BOLD GAMES’ ELITE WARRIORS: VIETNAM SHIPS

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, March 25, 2005 -- For years the country denied their existence, yet they undertook some of the most harrowing missions of the Vietnam War, and now consumers can experience this first-hand as Bold Games, a unit of Destineer, today announced that it has shipped its highly anticipated new PC title, Elite Warriors: Vietnam, to major retailers nationwide.

Based on the authentic missions experienced by former Studies and Observations Group (SOG) team leader and best-selling author, Maj. John L. Plaster (USA-Ret), Elite Warriors: Vietnam is an intensely realistic first-person shooter that lets players experience the unforgiving ferocity of a covert war where one wrong step could be their last.

“With Elite Warriors: Vietnam, I worked extremely close with the developers to create a real-war experience that authentically reflects the way SOG teams operated during cross-border raids into Laos,” said Plaster. “No detail was overlooked – from proper tactical responses right on down to hand signals -- this is the way we operated in Vietnam and is so close to what we encountered that it sends chills down the spine.”

Elite Warriors: Vietnam faithfully recreates the secret world of small teams operating deep behind enemy lines. Players lead teams of Green Berets and Montagnard tribesmen deep into Laos, along the heavily occupied Ho Chi Minh Trail to accomplish a variety of highly classified missions, including rescuing downed pilots, ambushing convoys, seizing prisoners and conducting bomb damage assessments. So true-to-life is the game, that the patrolling techniques found in Elite Warriors: Vietnam are still being used today in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Underscoring the realism and offering a hint of what members of SOG experienced, Elite Warriors: Vietnam includes an excerpt from Plaster’s critically acclaimed book, Secret Commandos.

Developed by nFusion Interactive, Elite Warriors: Vietnam has a suggested retail price of $29.99 and is rated T. More information can be found online at www.boldgames.com.

About Maj. John L. Plaster
Serving three full combat tours as a recon team leader during the Vietnam War, Maj. Plaster led small 6-8 man recon teams on covert missions along the Ho Chi Minh Trail in Laos. Facing increasingly hostile odds and operating without the official sanction of the U.S. government, SOG teams performed heroically to accomplish vital missions. At war’s end, Plaster’s SOG recon company was the highest decorated unit of the Vietnam War and included five Congressional Medal of Honor recipients. The men of SOG became legends in the Special Ops community and the dangerous obstacles they had to overcome to earn a Presidential Unit Citation are waiting gamers in Elite Warriors: Vietnam.
